That's not an eyepatch, it's cuff of my very first sock, ever. I'm so excited. I just may have to ignore all of my housework and knit until I can keep my feet cozy in a new pair of socks. Of course, then I won't want to wear them on my dirty floor.
They are going to be Roza's Socks by Grumperina in Cherry Tree Hill Supersock blues/greens. A simple sock, but it's going to be fun.

I find that I wish I had turned my Cherry Tree Hill socks inside out before washing... just for future reference. :)
