Airy Scarf

There once was a little ball of mohair.

She didn't live a very exciting life, born on the belly of a goat. She was spun and dyed a lovely light sage green. She didn't think she was very much, being itchy and all, but dreamed that one day she'd find a happy home.

She sat on the shelf of a lovely little yarn shop watching the yarns around her get sniffed and snuggled. She dreamed of becoming a baby booties, a shawl, maybe mixed with some wool and made into a purse. But she always thought she was much too itchy to that.

One day a girl came into the shop. She was new to this yarn craft and was looking for wool and Mohair. The little ball of yarn's heart jumped with joy. "Please, pick green. Please, pick green."

What a lucky little ball of yarn she was. Green was the girl's favorite color! The ball of mohair when home with a new friend, Cascade 22o. After lots and lots of knitting, the two friends became leg warmers (Ravelry link).

But then the little ball of yarn was sad again. There was so much yarn leftover. She was placed in a basket put away on a shelf.

Then one day the little ball of yarn was found by the girl. The girl decided it would be just enough to make a scarf. But the little ball of yarn thought that she was to itchy to be a scarf.

But the girl thought that the ball of yarn was perfect. There was a small princess that took all the girl's knitted warmies. But if the yarn was too itchy, then the princess wouldn't take it.

So, the girl finally had her very own scarf. And the little ball of yarn was very happy.

Pattern: Airy Scarf by Brenda Overstrom
Source: Last-Minute Knitted Gifts
Yarn: I think it is Mohair Craft Kid Mohair. I bought the yarn so long ago, I don't remember.

See, I can tell happy stories, too. I'm going to go read something Stephen King, now.
