Chiquita's Trip

Trips always seem different through a kid's point of view. Moms focus on the driving and all the technical stuff. Kids just have fun. So here is Chiquita at the start of our trip. That's my brother in the background in one of two pictures that he doesn't have sunglasses on. Her traveling buddy and cousin.
Our first day there was boring hanging out doing grown up stuff and being put in front of the DVD player for a couple of hours. But that night we all went to dinner together.

Chiquita was in charge of photography. Here's looking at, well, Mom. There were pictures of the floor, shoes, t-shirts, the ceiling, items on the table, and a new cousin to play with. Here is the other picture of my brother without sunglasses on. I've always said that we look alike, but now I am beginning to question my eyesight. He does have the family eyes though. The next day was completely boring for Chiquita and requires very little commentary. Though we did go visit Great G&G at the Veteran's Cemetery.

The last day was the really fun day. Chiquita and my BFF's daughter, ValleyGirl, were glued to the hip. ValleyGirl had been waiting for a friend with a DS since she got hers at Christmas. The two of them played on the PictoChat feature for an hour. The boys were outside playing and the girls were texting, silently. It was the most quiet hour of the entire trip. All of the cousins came over for a barbeque. I had I bought water guns for them. They tried to squirt the dads who then retalilated with the garden hose. We changed clothes for a family picture. Somehow one of these didn't end on my camera? But the kids fixed looking cute about five minutes later with the sprinkler. It was a shame we had to put them back in the car to drive home that night.
